Johnson, who has been leading ASE since January 2024, will cover a variety of pertinent topics with conference participants, including ASE’s strategic plan, educators’ critical role in that plan, the increasing demands on vehicle service education in the future and how technology will continue to grow as an integrated instructor assistant in that future. Education tech visionary, Robin Cowie, will be joining Johnson on the stage to share some integrated technology examples. Also, as part of his presentation, Johnson will share student survey results and tactics employed to grow the number of students attending ASE accredited programs and increase the number of ASE entry-level tests taken by students.
Johnson’s keynote address will also touch on the introduction of G1 equivalency where students in ASE accredited programs can earn a professional G1 certification at no additional cost by passing eight ASE entry-level automobile tests. He will also update the attendees on the ASE Education Foundation’s successful partnership with WrenchWay and its “School Assist” program.
The ASE Education Foundation’s instructor training conference is the premier national training event and offers more than 20 hours of technical update training with separate tracks for auto, medium/heavy truck and collision repair instructors.
“Since arriving at ASE, Dave has been at the helm of developing innovative solutions to address the technician shortage and increase the number of ASE accredited educational programs. With this in mind, we felt the conference attendees would benefit from hearing about the many ASE initiatives directly from Dave,” said Mike Coley, president of the ASE Education Foundation.
“Dave’s keynote speech will give the instructors an overview of how ASE and the ASE Education Foundation are helping schools and instructors prepare the next generation for careers as automotive service professionals.”To learn more and register for the ASE Instructor Training Conference, click here.
